THat poll is a straw poll, but it wouldn't surprise me if those polls were pretty accurate. A lot of women today only go for guys that are good lookin or rich..

Off-topic rant: I get tired of some girls who wish they could find a REAL man.. well I think WOMEN are TOOOOO PICKY!!!! You can't have BOTH looks and money.. why not settle for a guy who looks decent and is not rich, but will treat you right and be a good dad to future kids...

Personally I don't care about either, I hear it all the time money this money that just give me the money it's ridiculous in my opinion. I work, always have and will continue to do so I don't want someone to "take care of me" so to speak or buy me expensive gifts. Maybe the years of working with all guys rubbed off on me who knows lol but I hate shopping rather be fishing, I love guns and hate chic flicks. Last but not least I think a lot of people women and men both pass up opportunities for wonderful relationships by looking at the outward appearance and pocketbooks. There are a lot more important things to consider just as you said treat you right and be a good dad that's what it's all about...but hey I'm also almost 40 and know looks fade & money isn't everything either

Ah no way. I would pick his brain and looks over money any day. It's not the money that makes you happy, that gets boring after a while. It's the person you live with day by day, that persont that makes those special moments, those memories. I don't want to sound shallow but there has to be some physical attraction to begin with. From there is he isn't in the looks department then you only hope everything else kicks in.

If on the other hand they have the looks AND the brain, then it's a multi bonus thing (thanks babe!).

My man is about to apply for our local Police Department and with me working in EMS, it's obvious that big money is not going to be happening, but meh, this man is incredible so I'll take that

Statistically better looking people make more money during their lifespan.

Things that you must have to be successful in America:

    Intelligence
    Athleticism
    Looks
    Prior Wealth
    Education

There are a few others that aren't popping in my head at the moment but I know having a kind heart is not on the list.

So, this being said, If they truly had brains/intelligence they theoretically should be successful in their lives. Just as one whom has excellent facial and body structure. Which means that they should both have money, either way.

PLEASE remember that this is just a general thing. This is NOT set in stone and not to say every woman or man is the same. This is just some things I have learnt in my Psyc classes at the college.

Many female animals will only breed with a male who has the biggest nest for birds, the buck who wins a fight. The female will go for the male who has the best genes so that she will produce the best babies possible, not a lot of female animals go for looks.

Now think of today... Women might be more interested in an older wealthy man over a younger poor guy that's super hot because they want the 'male' who can provide the best enviornment for her to raise her young in. Now this is going to a pretty sub-conscience level and a biological level.

If we go back to animals a lot of male animals have more than one mate because they want to keep their population going and the more females they get prego, the more of 'their kind' will be on the planet. So.. In a way today men are seen as dogs for sleeping with a bunch of women but theres a somewhat Biological reason that men do that. Now they are not walking around thinking "I have to populate the planet" but on a subconscience level, that's possibly going on. Now is this an excuse for men? H-e double hocky sticks no. I am simply saying this is/could be a possible explination.

So men will often go for looks in a woman more often than a women will go for looks in a man. If a woman fit societys image of the 'perfect' or 'sexy' woman they will (usually) strive to look or be that way. Why? Because (remember sub-conscience) they will have a wider choice of males to choose from which means a wider rang of financial prospects for her to raise her young in.

This is all very general stuff and mainly things I learnt from the Psyc classes I am taking at the college but just my basic two cents.

I think for a guy I would prefer brains over money. I just makes sense to me.
And as for me psh I don't think im all that pretty, so I hope some guy out there will respect my intelligence =/

I won't lie, I'm quite contente with my man, tho he works in law enforcement and it isn't the money making career oh well. You can't have everything

    Him and his sister

Him and I, are on the left

A lot of the men I work with, are doctors and obviously make a lot more than most of us. I will also say that quite frankly, I find most of them, are quite cocky and don't have the same appreciation for things as the rest of us.

What I've noticed in the end most of women become interested in all ordinary men (I'm one of them). Ofcourse there's also people, men&women, who're after richness or look. But what I think is that maybe these people, who put something else but richness/look on their highest value, have more profound & down-to-earth set of values otherwise too. And good, realistic values are something I really appreciate especially if I think what kind of boyfriend, husband, etc I'd want.

A couple of sayings Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,

And Beauty is only skin deep. Both are very true.

Beauty comes from with-in , once you understand that
Everything becomes much easier to pick out a life partner
Or friend. Material things such as money are important in
This day and age , but should not be a priority when searching
For someone to share your heart with.
