Birthday Present...

Ok, so it's one of my close friends 20th birthday in a few weeks and I really don't know what to get her. Basically, the thing she loves most in the world are her horses (and her ute! ) and she's done a lot for me. Including lending me her horses, floating her horse for me to use, letting me take her horse away with me, and just being really good support and a really good friend and someone who's always really supportive, honest and open. Me and another friend were thinking about going in together to get her a present, but neither of us have any ideas. We want to make it something a little bit special to say thanks, but we're both pretty **** close to broke at the moment (ok, SLIGHT exageration... but not much!). Anyone got any ideas??? O yer, she's not really a 'girlie girl'...

What I like doing, not sure what you think, is getting together a whole heap of little gifts and making a really interesting gift basket. It needn't be expensive - just spend as much as your willing. WIth a nice card, I alway thikn it makes a great gift.

Some ideas for contents:
- fold away hoof picks
- chocolate (always good :-D)
- hair ties
- pens
- notepads/stickynotes

It really depends on the person for what you put in there so I'll let you think up the rest!

Oh I have an idea. One of my best friends made me these really neat present for x-mas. If you go to a photo developing type place, Walmart might also do it you can get photos put onto mugs, t-shirts, calendars etc...
Why not make her something like that with the picture so her horses. Do you have good photos of the 2 of your guys together? Could add those or it, into the gift?

When I turned 18 my friend gave me a fake crown, a little sculpture which resemble a princess and a sachet of sweet chocolate candies (them were wrapped on pink wrapping paper). The idea was that I was a princess of the day. I liked it! Very personal idea.

Like M2G said you can also get a picture of her horses made on a blanket. I think that's really neat. Although I don't know how much it would cost.

Why not get her one of those stuffed animals that enables you to name a star after you buy one? They're called SHINING STARS.

I have 3 of them, my son has 2 of them, and I've given them away as many gifts. I think they're really sweet, they're a cute little gift, and one that the givee is able to personalize themselves. She could name a star after her favorite horse.

You could give that as a part of sempre_cantando's or M2G's idea's.

Thanks guys, I really like sempre_cantando's idea with the basket of things. Anyone got some good ideas about what else to put in it?? I might have to make a trip to horseland soon! And I like the photo idea, what about getting a photo and putting it on a mug or something as part of the basket idea???
