Blood donation

I just got back from my first ever blood donation! Unfortunately we had to end it early because my bloodflow decreased and it hurt when she tried to re-position the needle. I still ended up with a good amount in the bag to donate though. It really wasn't that bad and I feel good knowing that I helped save lives.

I donated this morning too. Set a PR. 5 mins 4 sec. The key is plenty of water beforehand.

Good job on donating blood! I love the feeling of helping people too, especially with something so vital like blood. However, last time I donated I ended up passing out and having an upset stomach. I've been too afraid to donate since then!

I can't donate here, because I am British, as we had mad cows disease in England. Which is odd on two levels:
1) you had it here too, you just didn't publicize it as much.
2) I have been here 11 years, way past the time it would have developed.

ah well, whatever. I am glad you donated, I did religiously in England and I would here too if there were not asinine rules.

I donate blood as well as plasma and I'm on the registry for bone marrow donation! I'm always willing to give what my body makes on it's own.

I give every other time I'm alotted. The other times I bank it at the hospital for myself in case I need it then they have my own blood on hand to give me. This way they can't charge me for blood as it is already mine.

Edit to add: Kudos to you for giving.
