Red face BO Invited me to her Wedding....

So, yesterday I received an invitation in the mail to my Barn Owner's upcoming wedding. I am flattered that she invited me, but I don't really know her too well as I've only been boarding at the stable since last June. She's really nice and I did go to a dinner at her house (it was for all the participants of a clinic we had and the clinician). I'm thinking of going but not sure yet.

My biggest question is this...I have NO CLUE what to wear. Apparently it is going to be an outdoor wedding on the stable grounds (the property is absolutely gorgeous), and it's in the middle of winter (December 18).....in Nebraska.... um is it appropriate to wear my wool sweater??

Forgive me but I'm slightly socially inept. It's hard for me to make friends, I rarely get invited places and well...I really want to make friends and if I'm invited somewhere, I don't want to be inappropriate.

If the wedding is during the day(hopefully since it's outdoor in winter), then you should be fine in a nice sweater and slacks. You should go. Weddings are fun. And there will be cake!

Oh, forgot to mention, the wedding starts at 4PM :) So sort of day, but already getting cold.

I agree, weddings are fun. I haven't been to one for a while....the last one I went to was sort of disastrous but it was my b/f's fault (no longer together ha ha). He told me it was ULTRA formal and that he was renting a tux and I had to get an evening gown. We were dressed to the nines...we get there and...it's completely casual...the bride was even wearing a white sundress!!! I was so embarrassed!!!!!

Did she invite everyone from the barn? I'd go, you never know what kind of new people you'll get to meet, and its at the barn! How cool is that?! THere's certainly no harm in asking her what expected attire is. I'm sure its going to be pretty casual. She might also be planning something like a large tent with heaters and the weather might not be as big of a factor.

    Have fun at the wedding!
Wear warm clothes, it wouldnt help if you turned into a frozen yet very elegant statue

Get some fancier accessories eventually: a richly colored scarf perhaps, some nice earrings.

Thanks guys, I definitely plan on going and yes it's at the barn. There are also two receptions...one for the adults will be held in the house, one for the kiddies in the barn lol.

Of course you go if you've been invited!

Also I think you can ask her what's the dress code. I'd bet it's something warm tho.

    Have fun!
