Your flight sounds so leisurely based on your description! Sipping wine? I'm just trying to hold down lunch - this flight is so choppy, I'm on the verge of getting sea sick (air sick?) trying to read the words I'm typing. And no, stopping typing is not an easy fix for that, the same way stopping typing when I'm home sick and my head is spinning simply won't do, either. I have an old school Kindle that I would have liked to have brought, but of course I forgot to charge it.

I think you can purchase wine from any seat, but your description sounded so leisurely that I couldn't help but picture first/business class. I actually had the nerve to ask the company I work for if the fact that I'm flying for business means I can fly business class. For some reason they were thoroughly amused by that question. One day, before my time is up, I will know what it's like to fly without counting down the minutes!

I miss having my wife beside me on an airplane - I could invade her arm and leg room with impunity. Now? Not so much. In fact, I conceded the left arm rest to the guy next to me. I figured I'd just give it up since I have an aisle seat and therefore at least have somewhere to put my right arm. Just kidding about only missing my wife for that reason, by the way - I've already sent her several sweet little nothings from the air, if that redeems your opinion of me.

I'm flying into San Francisco and headed for Santa Clara. Good advice is welcomed, though the conference is all day from 9 to 6, so I'm afraid I won't have much of an opportunity to check out anything suggested, especially without a car.

At least I'll be able to login as Administrator from the hotel. There could be a fire in the moderator forum for all I know!

I imagine you'd have to really piss off a flight attendant to get kicked off the plane mid-flight.

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to ask about that the next time a flight attendant comes around.

I already did that, thanks. I also turned off the keyboard backlight and made sure Bluetooth was off.

Neat, do you mean fence for your horses? If so, is it the proper type of fence or the "exciting" thread type of fence?

No fire at the moment, but we can start one to have the room nice and cozy and warm for you by the time you get to CA.

Lol! It's proper fence. Treated telephone pole posts, 5 ft red brand no climb horse fence and electrobraid on top. We are adding another small lot to rotate through. With the drought my smaller private lot (stud pen/lot for my lone boarder) is looking rather sad. Maybe while you are up there you could cause an atmospheric shift and order me up some rain!

Unless you happen to be flying Aeroflot, then they may just bung you out

How sweet of you! That's exactly how I want to spend my downtime on this trip, putting out fires here. I'm actually hoping for a few days of the online equivalent of the "let's all join hands and sing Kumbaya" variety. Or maybe locking arms and singing "we are the world"? I'm impartial, really.

That sure does sound like some serious fence!

I tried, Mandy, but my rain dance in the aisle was cut short by a flight attendant who rushed over to make sure I was OK. Hopefully you'll at least get a little drizzle out of it.

Nothing exciting here today either.. Brooke and I did turn my aunt's garage into a "shooting range" for my bow. It's a two car garage but two cars as in length not width like usual..It's weird? Teaching her to shoot has been..interesting.. The neighbors don't find it nearly as amusing as we do..Especially being in a Hilton Head Island gated community..

Nice! I love archery. Is your bow the type with a trigger, or with the string you have to pull back? What kind of material is at the far end of your aunt's garage? I hope she doesn't care too much about it!

Thanks, I love it too. I have a compound bow..I have to have a release on my hand/wrist that hooks on a loop on the string, pull the string back and then let the release go with my finger. It's not like a cross bow with a trigger.. I have three bow targets set up at the end of the garage on top of each other.
