It is not often that "one thing" will push a person to kill themselves. Mostly teens. The raging and fluxing of hormones definitely scrambles the noggin. The feelings are real, just overwhelming.
For most other people it's the end of a journey down the road of depression. They get tired of faking it - of feeling nothing. Of everyday being endless and worthless. No joy, no energy, no love, nothing. Ever. So suicide isn't there to 'end it' for them.... they feel it's a release. People say "Oh, what happened?" But it was a journey of years.
Here's an interesting thought ..... all religions argue that there is a paradise waiting for you. If you are good, you are rewarded with heavenly delights. The Church's have pushed that dogma down the throats of the masses for millenia. So...... they had to come up with something to stop people from trying to reach their heavenly reward sooner. I mean, if you Believe, and you are cold, hungry, in pain, broken hearted, whatever .... why shouldn't you seek God's warmth? Well, there wouldn't be a whole lot of us left down here, would there? Hence, suicide is illegal and "immoral." Just something to think about.
I am sorry this young man wasn't able to see his way through the darkness. We will never know what his potential would have been ....
And you probably realise for the very first time, Snapple, that you truly ARE mortal.... that young people you know OR EVEN YOU can and will die.
