George Strait. There is a reason he's called the King of Country Music. Personally, I really like his older stuff; 80 proof bottle of tear stopper, they call me a fireman, unwound, oceanfront property in arizona, all my exes live in texas, cherokee maiden (I can tell you that song is a b***h to play on the guitar), etc.

I love pretty much all songs by Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, and Josh Turner. There are some songs by Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley that I like too.

Going back farther, you've got emmylou harris, george jones, johnny cash, tammy wynette, etc. If you want to go really country, check out some stuff from really back in the day like Marty Robbins (he's got a lot of gunfighter and cowboy songs that I absolutely adore) and Bob Wills. THAT's country music.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

Well I do listen to her, more than any other artist on the planet. I could care less if her music is "country" or not. I like her music because I've actually taken the time to listen to all of her songs.

Don't be discouraged by anyone about what kind of music you find appealing. There's been some great suggestions about what to check out, but some of us old cowboy types get into Chris LeDoux. He died some time back. 2003 I Think. The best advice I ever remember getting from my dad was not to discount any music. Makes you a more well-rounded person, and you can really find some things that have merit when you refrain from biases. Good luck.

I love Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Kip Moore, Josh Turner, Brad Paisley, Diekrs Bentley... that's all I can think of for now.

You might like Hunter Hayes, a friend who is big into Taylor Swift fell in love with him after I played her one of his songs, Storm warning is my favourite, she loves Wanted.

Huge fan of David Nail here! I'm also really loving the new bands Gloriana and Love & Theft too! So many country artist out there, I really have a hard time picking a favorite. I guess it depends on what sounds good to me at the moment. Love all country music.

I probably shouldn't join in because I'm a huge Taylor Swift Fan, I just don't get all these mean things people say about her, such as "I don't like her because she looks like a rat", "she sounds high", or "she only sings about boys". She has a lot of songs but it seems that the ones about past boyfriends are the most popular. If you haven't heard her song, "A Place in This World", you have to. It's MY favorite. That being said. . . LOL. . . Rascal Flatts!!! Also, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, and the guy who won American Idol, Scotty McCreery. Those are some of my favorites.

^the best. Like ever. "real" country music, not this Jason Aldean bull crap.:P

Then their are the newer artists. I picked the ones that actually have real talent. Haha
Eric Church
Carrie Underwood
Josh Turner
Mayyyybe Luke Bryan. I'm on the fence.
Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and Josh Turner ... eh, Turner's OK. The other two get filed with the Jason Aldean bull crap. They're about as country as an Old Navy store ... or as their image handlers will let them be (which isn't much).

True. I really enjoy Josh Turners less popular songs, they have a lot of soul and his voice is just to DIE for.

How can I have forgotten....Brad Paisley! He has some really funny songs.
