Although I am usually a Liberal, this time I voted NDP as I was hoping it was the best option to avoid a Con majority - guess not. Ignatieff is gone now though so maybe they'll actually get a good leader this time and I can vote for them again.

Election was totally interesting and shocking!

NDP opposition? Liberals in 3rd place (badly, I might add)? The downfall of the Bloc??

To be quite frank, I'm a little bit nervous about a Conservative majority. Hopefully the left can help balance the right so that everything remains centered. No offense to any of you Yanks reading this but... I really don't want our government to follow a US model - I still want to retain some of our socialism.

I dunno - it's very hard being very non-Con in Alberta.

    (Don't hurt me fellow Albertans! :) )

I have found that with the almost overwhelming influx of new Canadians from countries that don't seem to have this "attitude" of civility that we may lose that expectation people have come to rely upon from us as a country.

I truly hope you're wrong, but I have a sinking feeling that you're right. I'm so proud to be a Canadian for many reasons, including our positive reputation for friendliness and courteousness to the rest of the world.

I wish I were wrong also but daily I am assaulted by the new level of inconsideration and downright rudeness and this is coming from businesses that should have a higher standard not only just civilians.

I hope Harper stops all immigrants for a while instead of allowing them to come flooding into the land of plenty where they grab everything in sight while thumbing their noses up at us.

I'm not sure where I stand on immigration. I think because I live far from a major Canadian city, my life isn't negatively affected by the constant influx of immigrants these past several years, but on the occasions I am traveling through Toronto, I am always taken aback at how the city is basically a city of new Canadians now.

I wish our government would put more thought into solving the problems that our original inhabitants face (Aboriginal Canadians) than accommodating the people migrating here.
