Why is it that Christmas shopping brings out the worst in people?? It apparently turns people into ignorant, rude and greedy individuals.
I had to pop into a mobile phone shop today to top up my prepay credit card. I waited a half hour as there were only 3 members of staff on, and two were consumed with people who insisted on looking at every phone and being explained the different between them all. Anyway, a woman came in shortly after me, and another woman a good 15 min later. Suddenly worker A was finished with her person, yet the woman behind me decided to rush around and ignore the fact I was there first. This irritated me, but I bit my tongue. Another 10 minutes later, Worker A is free again, and the other woman literally pushes by me to get to her. In the end I was there for nearly an hour, all in order to spend about 2 min getting the card topped up.
Whatever happened to common courtesy? My day is just as important as theirs.
Trying to walk through a shopping centre has gone to crud.. pushing, joustling, elbows flying in all directions - seriously you would think that the shops are going to sell out of everything and will never be stocked again.
Then outside the shops you've got the car park.. holy lord do we see some sights of road rage. I saw two people fighting over a spot.. when there were several free about 10 spaces down. Nobody will let other cars in or out, and while stuck in traffic for several minutes, I came to realise it was because a bus was trying to turn and nobody would wait the 30 seconds to he could get around and they all insisted on squeezing between him and another car.
It's amazing that in a season of festivities where giving is meant to be such a major part, that people forget that giving to people they don't know can be just as rewarding.
