That sounds like a question that requires me to use my brain too much!!!
Any answer will do - scientific to explain why we do it, how other people cope/overcome it, what other peoples comfort food weaknesses are.

Rice pudding. The ultimate comfort food!

It's nearly white, bland, warm, sweet and not too dry nor too runny. And if you mom makes it for you , then you know you are loved!

Haha! I just think that if I pick up all that weight from eating the cakes I like so much it'll be hard on me and my horses to ride. Sometime it works (sometime when I'm in a stress it doesn't).

Forget sugary stuff, gimme:

Bacon, fried eggs, deep fried country potatoes, on a huge slab of texas toast, covered with cheddar cheese, spinach & tomatoes, with a dollop of mayo...
Makes all the troubles of the world disappear!

Gahhhh!!!! Why you so fattening?

If God was actually a woman, lettuce would have a gazillion calories and Cadburys Fruit and Nut would have none.

When you are a baby and crying you get fed, when you are a toddler you get rewarded with sweets. You are alive today because your ancestors were adept at finding high calorie food and living through the bad times.

You are hard wired to find high fat, high sugar foods, it is a survival mechanism, that is now outdated due to the easy availability of food.

My comfort foods-- Reese's, twix, snickers, skittles, nerds, chocolate covered anything, any kinda chocolate, cheesecakes, brownies, pizza, puddings pies, biscottis, cookies, I like cakes but the icing tickles the roof of my mouth- yuck!

Lets not just blame junk food- cold drinks do it too!

I love me some sweet tea, kool-aid, cold drinks, and whiskey has lots of sugars in it too.. that's why ill always be a size 9.

And I love my fruits and salads.. but I drench my salads in italian dressin, and I make sugary dips for my fruits too. :( oh I loveeeee avocados!! They refust to grow here in TN. :(
