Countdown to total Mommy meltdown...

To start w/ let me say that I am ABSOLUTELY POSSITIVELY afraid of surgery. I was a complete basketcase before my 2 c-sections and I was awake for those.

So today I had to schedule my daughter to have her adnoids out next Fri. Hopefully, it's just going to be only those and not tonsils too, but the Dr. will decide the day before if they really need to come out as well. I know the adnoid surgery is "minor" and only takes a few minutes, and she'll be 90% the next day, but I am already just going nuts. I can't imagine what I'll be like next week!

Yesterday I found out that her adnoids are almost completely blocking the nose to throat area, and that it's not allergies that make her sound all snuffly, it's that basically she can't breath through her nose at all. From what the Dr. said they look like they've been that large for a long time. I've just always chalked it up to she has allergies... No wonder allergy meds weren't working

Oh, I hope everything goes well and this will all be over soon!! (And maye they'll give me something during the surgery as well, LOL)

Great big {{{{{hugs}}}}} to you.....and prayers for an easy divert and recovery. It's never routine when it is your "baby" (no matter the age) having surgery.

You found the reason and it can be treated! I think it's great! As for the surgery from what I know it's indeed "minor", so don't go into too much stress (you may scare your kid too). Best wishes and prayers on way...!

Oh, we've definately gotten the before pics!! She loves looking at them for some reason, LOL. She's been asking me every morning to take a picture. Goofy Girl
