I work part time at a preschool and its a lot of fun. (I'm sixteen) But I don't know what types of places you live around.

Fast food places are almost always hiring.

Nursing homes are a good place to look, even if you are working as a dietary aide, it's still very rewarding.

Grocery stores tend to have a high turn over of employee's, might be good for an after school job.

Retail stores,
Bowling allies,
Gas stations (although they might have restrictions on how old you can be before you can sell alcohol and cigarettes.)
Baby sitting
Dog walker

I would just start cold calling and see if there are any openings.

Do you have any kind of employment office in your area? They often release adverts about vacancies...

Or then cruise local companies and ask if they have something offer to you.

Don't be embarrassed by that Ging. I'm looking for a job myself and at the rate I'm going, I might have to tough it out, and go to Mcwaggles (mcdonalds). Ideally I'd like to find something that I will be doing after college, but no such luck as of now.
