Smile Doing a happy dance! 1.59 inches of rain on the way, currently pouring!

We are FINALLY getting some measurable rain! HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!
Isaac was supposed to dump up to 6 inches on us but it shifted east and we only got a slight inch. It did green things up but the well is still dry, the river is dry, the pasture is pretty bare, and the leaves are falling off the trees.

HOPEFULLY this will help us not have to haul soooooo much water!!!!

Yeah, luckily it looks like there will be a half way decent fall cutting down there, but my pond is still real low - has gone from 3 acres to 1 acre, and my catfish are bumping into each other...

Yeah, my pond is a puddle, but at least there is SOMETHING in it!!
This was just three weeks ago:

We've been cutting hay, looking pretty good! Better cutting than the sparse first, the first cut went to seed with no leaves because it was so hot so early. The "hurricane" helped a little.
I did see a couple mowed fields down the road getting drenched... Not so good.

FG, you can take rain from here! We had quite a bit of it lately too (from what I know not good for beans and corn before farmers pick them)... I think hay season is already over though (no more cutting).

Glad you got rain! I hope your hay wasn't down when it hit.

We got rain today, too - a heavy burst that came out of the blue after I put my mare in her "bedroom" for lunch (she plays the drums, so I feed her in a separate pen that has no cover). She looked like the "end of the trail" pony. It was raining and the wind was blowing, I felt so bad for her. So, I ran out to put her back in her pen so she could take cover. She just looked at me and my umbrella like, "whatchya doing?" and kept munching, and wouldn't budge! Ha...last time, ever!!! I went back to the house drenched! Little ingrate.

Even in Seattle, the heartland of rain, we have not had measurable rain for about 2.5 months. Everything is really dry, the ground is rock hard in spots and the forest fires are raging.
