Don't touch the radio at all while you are driving. Keep it on a lowish volume so that the instructor can communicate with you.
Over exaggerate your mirror and blind spot checks. Make it super noticeable that you are looking, because if you just flick your eyes, they won't really notice it.
Drive in the right hand lane, unless you are told that you are to be taking a left hand turn at the next corner.
Even if the lights aren't flashing at a railroad crossing, still do a quick glance, as well as at intersections that you are coming up to....just in case a car is coming and misses their stop sign.
