Dumas'_Grrl

For those of you who remember Dumas'_Grrl aka Amy, I thought I would pass this on. She was a moderator here a few years ago. Her husband lost his job and she had to sell their horses. She left the forum soon after that.
2 weeks ago her 17 year old daughter was in a terrible auto accident. Korrie has been in the critical care unit since then. She has traumatic head injury as well as severely bruised lungs and broken ribs. After her MRI it was discovered to be a diffuse axonal injury. She does open her eyes and has been moving her arms and legs.
I had just read on Korrie's Facebook page that she had been shopping for her prom dress. The next day, she had the accident. Korrie, like her mom, is a great person with personality plus. Please say a prayer for Korrie.

Amy was always a good moderator and a great friend. To any who would like to make a donation to a fund that has been set up for her, may do so by going to.
If anyone is interested in helping, please PM me for details.

How sad! Thanks for letting us know, Vida! My prayers to Korrie, Amy, and the family!

Oh, God, how horrible! Thank you for letting us know Maureen.

Prayers going up for them here.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

Latest fb entry from Amy
"Update on Korrie - Good evening everyone, I've been meaning to update all day but she progressing so quickly I haven't had a chance!!! So as of today Korrie is officially OFF of the ventilator, she has a valve to speak and is, she has stood with assistance to shower, she's becoming more mentally clear as the drugs leave her system and has only taken normal tylenol for pain, the only tube she has left in her body is the feeding tube which can not be removed for a few more weeks. She even asked for her cell phone to work on hand dexterity! LOL :) God's work is so mighty! I will send out a text when she is ready for visitors - she has therapy pretty often."

Sorry it's taken me awhile to add to this. Amy's daughter was released from the hospital. She even made it to her HS graduation. She has a long road of rehabilitation but should make a full recovery. Thank the powers that be for skillful medical care and the many prayers and good thoughts.

I can't believe I only just saw this! How terrible.

I'm so glad Korrie's making a full recovery! That's wonderful. Thanks for the update.

Thank you for updating this again, Vida.

I'm so glad that she's doing it. What a brave young lady!
