Thanks! I'm really excited. I just looked online at Midway's requirements for graduation and 124 hours of classes are required. Is that a lot or pretty average? 43 hours of General Education requirements (math, science, english, history), 48 hours of electives (not sure on those), and 33 hours of the specific major requirements (for me, it's a B.A. In English.)

Aww... if you don't mind me asking, what are your plans after the current school?

Hey girl! Request to be in Belle Wisdom Residence Hall... We should meet up when you get here. I hope you like Midway more than I did.

Do you have arrangements yet to accomodate your horse?

that's about what I did at PSU. You always seem to end up with more credits then you need.

I loved everything about the school except for the academics. I didn't like what I had chosen to study there and there wasn't anything else there that I wanted to go into. So, I had to go somewhere that had more options for me.

Plus there is a very large anti-saddlebred, anti-saddleseat sentiment there that I can go into more if you want to hear my gripings. It is a silly reason to leave a college, but that was one of the main reasons I decided to leave. You just can't be at a place where your passion is strictly denied to you. I cannot have respect for an "equine program" that does not have an option for all aspects of the industry, especially when there is interest and a plan to make it work. Grr, still makes me mad. I have so much more to vent about on the subject, but will do my best to refrain.

I would get your housing application in as soon as possible. You really do want to be in Belle, for the main reason of a private bathroom. You share it with your suitemates, but still.

There are places on the campus where you can see every building there. It is really small, secluded and safe. I was in the Western Barn mostly, so I only know the horses down there, but there are up to 80 horses there that you get to know and work with, and the Western Coach/Riding Director is just an amazing lady. My friend said that the new Dressage Teacher is phenominal and really really good. Dr. Holland rocks.

You will be 10-20 minutes from the Horse Park, 10-20 Minutes from Keeneland and also close to the Red Mile. If you want to go experience a few Harness Races we should go sometime. There is a great scholarship day at Keeneland where you can win a $1000 scholarship just by going and watching the races. I got a sunburn at one and nearly froze to death at the next one. You will likely have opportunities available to you to work at some of the local farms(mainly race farms) as they are always in need of night watch people during the foaling season. Good opportunities abound.

Well, it sounds like a plan and then you'll have extra time to think about your future . Many of students gradute their upper secondary within 3½ or 4 years nowadays. 3 of my friends did that too.
