February 17th Friday Night Conversation

Sorry for lack of more snappy title. Happy Friday to everyone. Hope everyone is doing well and got plenty of candy this week. I got mine from Markdown afterwards. Cold here but hope weather where you are doesn't damper weekend plans. What are those plans? Got a mixed bag of really random kickoff questions this week.

What do you want on your headstone. Really random right out of the gate. I want Some of its Magic Some of its Tradgic but I had a good Life all the Way. Bonus points for knowing where that comes from.

If being cremated where to you want to go? The sea, mountains or wherever.

What are some random food combinations that may seem weird but you enjoy?

What was/ is your favorite subject in school?

If you could go back and live in another time period which one and why?

What did/ do you want to be when you grew up. I remember in 3rd grade wanting to be a Vet. Guessing that's pretty common especially here. When I grow up I want to be a railbird.

And ending with another really random maybe weird one. I am a bad sleeper to begin with. But have noticed it's even worse during full moons. Not in the I am the wolfman kinda way. Was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Any thoughts on why this is.

Supper discussion will follow at some point today. As always just a starting point.

YAYYYYYY So happy you made this, & so happy it's Friday. :)
TGIF!

Not sure what I would want on my headstone...that's really a tough one. I'd have to give that some thought for sure. :O

Random food combos...mashed potatoes dipped in ketchup (I know, I'm weird but it's good), cream cheese & jelly on crackers...I know there's more lol. I don't like my eggs w/ ketchup though.

My favorite subject in school was always English. I was really good with spelling & grammar. Math was my least favorite, still is. Not a fan whatsoever. I also liked Science but Chemistry was hard. In college I took an Astronomy class- it was my favorite. :)

I wanted to be a lawyer. Now I just want to be a paralegal, hoping to get into my field soon. :) I took up law in college and it really interested me. However, bankruptcy & real estate law was boring to me, so I refused to take those classes.

Hmmm that's interesting about the full moons. I don't really see a difference in my sleeping patterns, although sometimes I can't fall asleep easily. :( Not sure.

Any cool weekend plans anyone??? I'm excited because it's going up to the 60's this weekend. I'm shocked because it's been so cold/windy all week! Taste of spring is coming.
I'm going riding in my lesson in the AM of course, then no other plans...parents for Sunday dinner then that's about it. I do need to grocery shop tonight, & do laundry. Am I 25 or 85? LOL! Sounds boring but I also might go out to dinner with one of my girl friends. I could use some TGIFriday's!!! So delicious.

Ride more, worry less.

Happy Friday!!

Haven’t really thought of a headstone as I doubt I would be laid to rest in a cemetery. If I did, it would probably read something like, “she ran, and ran, and ran…and didn’t really go anywhere”…LOL. I dunno. I’m an avid runner and it does nothing for me but destroy my body.

I think I would prefer to be cremated and have my ashes spread in the mountains. We live on the border of the Canadian Rockies and I just love it out there.

I don’t really have any weird food cravings..used to like ketchup with everything, but not really into that anymore. Sometimes if there’s nothing else to snack on, I’ll take chunks of bread and dip them in maple syrup.

I’m with Poptart…I liked English classes in school. I’m a huge grammar fanatic. Math was awful.

I always thought it’d be cool to live in the medieval era. But women got treated like crap…and I’d probably end up dying of typhoid or something. Plus wearing dresses all the time would drive me nuts. Living in the wild-west would be super cool; but same issues as above. Maybe I’d just go back to the 80’s before all this crazy technology took over our world. I am not a huge fan of social media.

I wanted to be a vet (of course). Or an Olympic Athlete (still working on that one…lol).

Full moons don’t affect my sleep, however eating a bunch of chocolate before bed time does!

I will actually have some semblance of a social life this weekend!! A friend and her hubby are coming out tomorrow to visit. Tonight I’m hoping to get some much needed horse time in, and may try to get my mileage run in. I’m not too keen on running 22-25km after 6pm tonight though  My nephew has hockey on Sunday which I might go to….he is only in Novice and they are super cute to watch!

Happy Friday, my favorite day of the week.:)

I will be at the barn this weekend.

If being cremated where to you want to go? The sea, mountains or wherever.

Not sure, haven't really thought about this.

What are some random food combinations that may seem weird but you enjoy?

None that I can think of.

What was/ is your favorite subject in school?

Gym

If you could go back and live in another time period which one and why?

My 20's because I would have stopped wasting time doing nothing with life.

What did/ do you want to be when you grew up. I remember in 3rd grade wanting to be a Vet. Guessing that's pretty common especially here. When I grow up I want to be a railbird.

Policeman as a kid, an artist as a teenager.

And ending with another really random maybe weird one. I am a bad sleeper to begin with. But have noticed it's even worse during full moons. Not in the I am the wolfman kinda way. Was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Any thoughts on why this is.

Happy Friday!

Cremated: probably the mountains

Donít really have random food combinations.

Loved art, history and some of the sciences but hated maths. I studied History at University, which I really enjoyed. Like Poptart I also took astronomy classes and loved the subject, but found it hard.

The 13th century as it was a time of war in my country, especially in my area where a building and the landscape affected the outcome. Or even the 16th century, as the building I work in was built about 550 years ago (first started about 1000 years ago). Itís hard to work in as itís freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer even with mod cons; so Iíd like to see just how tough life was for everyone from the high status to the ordinary family in the local town. A few years ago, nine male and female skeletons were found in the buildings and they were thought to be from the 12/13th century; they were malnourished and had blunt trauma injuries, one with over 100 fractures thought to have come from hand-to-hand fighting; Iíd love to know their story.

aubie If you donít mind me asking: whatís a railbird?
I changed what I wanted to do every week, but working with horses in some form was always in the picture. I still managed to work with them but I eventually settled with another job.

Extra light at night? My room lights up white when the moonís out.

I don't mind you asking at all. And I love hearing from you and things from other countries. A railbird is someone who hangs out at the track a lot. If I make it to my golden years I want to spend them at the track. Maybe get an old man hat. Smoke cigars. Drink bourbon. Travel from track to track. Overtip breakfast waitresses. That is if I don't make it big and become an owner. Either way I think I will make a charming old man.

Weekend Plans:
Study for a maths test i may or may not go to on tuesday (the next sitting is in march if I dont go)
Possibly go out to the barn with the camera and get some nice pictures of the pony
Go to the barn to pay the farrier and my trainer... Go to a tackshop nearby to see if I can find a cheap-ish snaffle bit, I borrowed one today but sharing bits between horses isnt the safest thing higiene-wise... Might see if I can pick up a dressage whip and a sweat scraper as well.

Call the saddle guy to order myself a saddle!! YAY!

What do you want on your headstone.
Ehm I havent really thought about this lol. I do come across a song I want played at my funeral every now and then though, but cant think of any right now.

If being cremated where to you want to go? The sea, mountains or wherever.
I guess the sea! Some scenic mountain lake would be cool too.

Edit: I actually think I'd like it to be put in a garden, and a tree planted on it. That sounds nice and that way there would be something left for my loved ones to visit every now and then :)

What are some random food combinations that may seem weird but you enjoy?
Easter/Christmas bread (sweet bread with raisings, dried fruits, nuts etc, and a roll of almond paste baked into it) topped with boiled eggs. Only the 'direct' line of family on my dad's side eats this. (so not my mom, aunt etc) It's SO GOOD THOUGH!!

What was/ is your favorite subject in school?
The languages, doesnt really matter which, I love learning new ones! Except latin, latin sucks.

If you could go back and live in another time period which one and why?
So I'm gonna have to go with middle ages, though I'm not sure it's the best choice for a woman xD

What did/ do you want to be when you grew up.
See answer above. Funny story, when I was 7 I wanted to be a knight. I learnt the complete oath and did the whole thing with the wake the night before to think about good and bad etc, and my dad did the ceremony thing with the sword taps on the shoulders.

Also gonna throw this in here even though its already in my journal, (I'm just that excited, forgive me xD) I WAS GIVEN MY LEASE AS A GIFT YESTERDAY SO NOW IM A FIRST-TIME HORSE OWNER!!

I can honestly say, I don't know ; neither where that comes from, nor what I want on a headstone. I probably don't want a headstone, period.
If being cremated where to you want to go? The sea, mountains or wherever.

I want to be buried in a natural way, so that my body dissintegrates back into the soil. cremation takes a tremendous amount of energy (gas) and puts a huge amount of carbon into the atmosphere. why not put all that carbon back into the earth? at no expense to the environment at all? I will live in every blade of grass or worm or tree root.

What are some random food combinations that may seem weird but you enjoy?

tuna fish sandwiches with crushed potatoe chips in the mix.

What was/ is your favorite subject in school?
no brainer! ART!

If you could go back and live in another time period which one and why? I'd like to live in turn of the century New York, like 1890's.

What did/ do you want to be when you grew up. I remember in 3rd grade wanting to be a Vet. Guessing that's pretty common especially here. When I grow up I want to be a railbird. I wanted to be a cowgirl.

And ending with another really random maybe weird one. I am a bad sleeper to begin with. But have noticed it's even worse during full moons. Not in the I am the wolfman kinda way. Was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Any thoughts on why this is.

my replies in brown.

supper for us will be left over vegetable Lasagna, that I made last night. lots of fresh veggies used to create the marinara sauce and the filling of spinch/mushroom/onion/zuchini. and lots of gooey cheese.

Here's my additional question:

What single food could you simply NOT live without?
