Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy

Who has read them?

I am absolutely obsessed with them now. I had heard how...explicit they were, and I refrained from reading them. One of my moms friend sent the first book home from work with her so I could read it. It took 24 pages to get into the first person writing, but after that I was hooked. I finished the first book in 10 hours strait of reading

I had to go out am buy all 3 then...lol.

I started the 2nd book last night around 8pm, and could not put it down. I closed it satisfied when I reached the last page at 330 am, then cussed myself out as I got ready for work at 8. LoL.

I love the characters and the storyline.

Lucky for me, I have tomorrow off, but I must wait until I get out of work at 9pm before I can start the 3rd book. *sigh*

Now where is my very own Christian Grey billionaire extroidinaire. (Without all the baggage of course... )

Wow people are so different. I couldnt even finish the first one.
Poor writing, a very predictable plot, even the s&m is pretty tame.
I was very dissapointed.....I know without even finishing the books that they will break up and get back together.
Like a Harlequin.

It was way tamer than I expected. It doesn't accurately portray the lifestyle at all.

I like the harlequins because you can read them in about 2 hours. But you are right, they are pretty similar. They hate each other but they are attracted to each other, they fall in love, misunderstanding, break-up, turning point, back in love.

I still enjoy them though.

I can't even get past the book jacket on the shades of grey trilogy though. Can you give a little insight without actually giving any spoilers so I can decide if I want to take the plunge on the trilogy or not?

I've only ever ridden a couple of snippets that were supposed to be the 'best parts'. It read like a bad 'Twilight' fanfiction, which is what it originally was. I have absolutely no interest in reading it; I believe you can find better literature online.

The title is kind of a play with words. His name is Grey his eyes are grey. The shades bit reflects all the aspects of Grey.

Young girl meets wordly billionaire who is into Dirty Things and lures her into doing them with him.

I know alot of people that feel the writing isnt the greatest. But I didnt notice a difference between any of my other romance books. Its all very easy to read and comprehend. Of course im not into many other types of books, just romance so I can see how its not...intellectual?

CLaPorte just wait until you get a little further into the second book. By the end of the first book I was getting bored. Took me forever to read the second one. I lost interested fast, but managed to finish it. I started the third book about 2 months ago and I'm only 100 pages in and have NO desire to pick it back up.

Some people love the book, I think it was very over rated and a bore to read after a while.
