Smile God Made A Farmer

Sorry if there's already a thread going about this that I didn't see, but I though that Dodge commercial (even for as much as I dislike Dodge trucks) with Paul Harvey's "So God Made a Farmer", was the best commercial of the super bowl.

For those that didn't see it, here it is:

Ram - YouTube

The only critism I have is that it could have been farmer/rancher, because ranchers have endless jobs too.

I think too many people in America go and do their 8-5 job and have absolutely no clue how hard the farmers/ranchers in this country work 24/7 and 365.

nice poem and story line, but had zero connection to the product sold. But I think that is kinda the trend in Super bowl adds these days.

Huh?

Pickup trucks are the bread and butter for a farmer or rancher. A Dodge truck commercial makes sense to me.

Our family work pickup for the farm was hardly ever in the shed, because it was needed to fix fence, haul salt blocks to the summer pasture, pull the trailer with a sick cow inside to the vet, run out to the field with a tool to fix the seeder, pull the gravity box to be refilled at home, etc etc etc.

But I would agree that most superbowl commercials just try to be the most outrageous as possible to grab people's attention, like the disgusting and gross makeout session between a model and nerd for GoDaddy.com. Eww.

And lets not forget Psy showing up in the Pistachio commercial...

I hadn't seen this yet until now - Thank you for posting! Right up there within a hair's breadth away from my favorite, the Clydesdale commercial that still makes me cry like a baby. This is so well done, and almost a "Norman Rockwell" perfect depiction of farmers in their daily life. Even think I saw my hay supplier with his weathered hands and gentle smile in there somewhere.....
