Well, I have to say you pick your outrages carefully. If it had been Obama doing this during a DRAFT (not volunteer army) I can't even imagine the protests. I always find it interesting how "outrages" always seem so one sided.

Pots and kettles, no one side is immune from this, that is a fact that CAN be relied on, both sides spread lies, rumors and selective truths, and both bunches of supporters are equally gullible in believing what is thrown around,

Yeah, right. I don't recall Republicans being outraged because Obama didn't volunteer to go to the Gulf War, or Clinton didn't enlist to go to Vietnam. And quite frankly, the only one of the 4 with a shady record of eluding the draft is Biden - along with his shady school record. But even then, I don't recall any criticism of Biden for his draft evasion. He was crtitized for his poor school record and his plagiarism, but that was years ago and wasn't even brought up in the last election that I can recall. Your accusation is foundless and without merit.

Let's call a spade a spade here - none of the 4 candidates have any military service and none of them felt compelled to volunteer, even though there was a war going on when each was of age to serve. It is ludicrous to try and make any distinction between any of them on this particular issue. In my mind they are all wimps in that respect. There is nothing here to debate and you are trying to make something out of nothing...not that I haven't been known to do the same on occasion...

ETA: But then that doesn't have anything to do with Romney, either...

Hmm...there is a difference between not volunteering and dodging, don't you think? He received four deferments including the fact that he was in college. Yet, he "served" a 30 MONTH missionary service in France. More than enough time to have served his military duty. Yet, he feels comfortable being a hawk, now.

What I am mostly trying to bring up here is what we decide to be outraged by. How what I believe about this situation is a big nothing to you, yet what the "Birthers" believed was outragious was a big nothing to me. We pick and choose.

Plus, when Romney was asked why none of his five sons had served in the military, he gave a really flippant answer. Romney’s response is drawing criticism, because he said, in part, “one of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping to get me elected.”
