Has anyone read The Count of Monte Cristo?

For summer reading, one of my required books was The Count of Monte Cristo. One of the essay questions I'm stuck on is, What are the lessons taught through the main character's experiences? What is meant by this; the morals of the story, or the lessons learned by characters in the novel? Thanks!

I would take that as what lessons did you learn through the things the count did throughout the story.

I agree, what lessons can be learned from the story... There are many because each relationship that Edmond has evokes an event and a lesson...so if you are really stuck, think about what he learned from each person or event in his life.... this may get you rolling a bit.
