We arrived what ill call "yesterday", though my jet lagged mind isn't,t sure. Loved how the taxi driver taking us to hotel used his online dictionary to look up the word "crisis " for discussion of the economy, all while going about 90 on the "highway".

Welcome to Italy. You‘ll see more should be accidents in Rome than you've ever seen before.

Ha ha....the ultimate Italian driving experience......been there....driver talking to us, other drivers, himself( and yes, Italians are mute without hands, so one can imagine) and changing the radio channel after every song, so he could sing with something.......
Just like in the movies.......AND we had a loaded horse trailer attached....

So we finished our second day here. We walked all over the place and did some shopping. Most notable to me , and something I'll treasure for ever, is wehn I sat for a street artist to do my portrait, (having noticed he was Much more skilled than any other artist I'd seen) and he ended up refusing payment from me . He said he enjoyed our concersation SO much, and that I appreciated his skill as an artist, that he wanted to give it to me. I was utterly blown away . He simply refused payment. So, I gave him a big hug and told him that I would bring him a gift on Monday , when he would be there again. Made a huge impression on me. , and the likeness was amazig! I will post a photo of it when I can.

Ate dinner at a nice restuarante, and food was good, but though I have been eating plenty, I don't have as much appetitte and could not nearly finish my food. A pity;. Then walked to see the Coloseum lit up at midnithgt, many people still milling aorund at the base. Roma!
