Heart Palpitations

Does anyone have them and if so what do they feel like to you?

If you're having heart palpitations you should be seeing a doctor, not asking about them on the internet.

Really? You're seriously asking this on a forum? Go to a doctor (and not the same one that told you that you had a tumor but didn't take any tests)

Hey I didnt say I have them.. I do .. and irregular heart beat, but I was asking! And they took x rays of it and a MRI of the tumor.

I'm no doctor..but a blood test may be helpful..

I don't know if they will or not. And if anyone wonders I have don't a stress test before.

As many other members have stated, if you believe you are having heart palpitations I would make an appointment to see a doctor.

But to answer your first question, I do get heart palpitations. I believe they can feel different for each person but for me it feels like my heart is trying to beat out of my chest and sometimes I can feel it in my throat. Each of my episodes only last a few moments and are normally brought on by stress or if I have caffeine in my system. Strange I know, but my body can't handle it.

Heart palpitations can be caused by a mitral valve prolapse or it could be related to stress, etc. The only way to know if it is related to something serious is to have an EKG and an Echocardiogram. A Holter Monitor may also be a good test (it is basically a 24 hour EKG machine that you can wear).

Palpitations can feel like a racing heart, or a skipping beat, or like your heart has stopped and restarted. Palpitations just means that you can feel your heart beating in your chest without putting your hand over your heart. It can be a wide range of "feelings" depending on what your heart is actually doing.

From what you describe its the same here, fluttery, going to beat outta your chest, skipping beat.. etc. feeling. I did a 24 hr EKG few years ago too.

I have them from time to time and my Doc said that they can be associated with hormonal changes, of women, so it does not apply to you.
Feels like I forgot to breathe, and my heart is in a panic.
