If it's a cyst or a boil, squeezing it will only make it worse. If you go to the doctor, they're just going to tell you to wait until it bursts and to quit messing with it.
Take an aspirin tablet and crush it int powder (It HAS to be aspirin - or a generic where the active ingredient is Acetylsalicylic/Salycilic Acid). Add a drop of water - enough to make it pasty but not dissolve it. Slather on pimple. Apply bandaid and let it sit. Gently wipe off when it starts to flake and dry. Works wonders.
Aspirin has great anti-inflammatory properties that help with swelling, and it unclogs your pores. Dries any unnecessary oil from your skin. I don't know why it works 100% but google it and people swear by it. Some people use it as a nightly face scrub, actually.
If you have any sensitivity to aspirin, don't put it on your face or on a break in the skin. It can & will be absorbed into your body. Posted via Mobile Device
FWIW, on the occasion that I get one of those pimples that is really deep and super sore, I just leave it alone. I continue with my face-care like normal but I just don't touch it.
It always either goes away by itself or it comes to a head. I've found that messing with them, squeezing them and such, just tends to make them bigger, hurt worse, and last longer.
I get one of those in the exact same spot every so often, and I've learned to just leave it. It starts to hurt if I mess with it, and if I leave it it eventually just fades. Posted via Mobile Device
ive fought acne for YEARS shoebox, and have never heard of that. I MUST try this now. Thanks :)
Another thing that can work. If you buy pure, raw honey (nothing with added crap in it like sweetners or whatnot - many people use the organic honey. The stuff in the bear shaped bottle is no good.) I have heard of some pretty great results for that too. Thin layer on face, leave for ten minutes, gently wipe off. I'm sure you've heard of honey being used to treat wounds? Same concept! And your face will smell good. Some people add things (Sugar for exfoliation, cinnamon because of supposed antibacterial properties) but I'm no expert you'd have to do some googling.
I've seen some drastic improvement for a bad breakout.
As for you 'just leave it alone' people - you obviously have MUCH better self control than me! I am NOT capable of leaving my zits when I get them I have to poke and pick at them. If it's a bad, deep one I sometimes leave it till after a shower when it's easier to get at - but MAN I am bad at leaving it be, until that sucker is popped! See example below. That's pretty much me.
