Thanks again all! I'm currently composing a list of all the above suggestions, and I'll check them all out next time I go to the bookstore...assuming, of course, they have them..

Publishing is the most annoying, ridiculous, frustrating industry I've ever been involved in. I'm surprised I'm still publishing, although I feel like an old war horse. What's the saying...what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I feel like the Incredible Hulk. Ooi! The stories I could tell.

Not a novel, but the book "Chicken Soup for the Horse Lover's Soul" is a wonderful, heart warming (mostly) read.

Haha, I was a big fan of the Thoroughbred series when I was a kid, and the black stallion.

Riding Lessons by Sara Gruen was pretty good. I haven't read any horse themed books in a while. Outlander had horses in it, but they weren't the main focus. Oh, and Ruffian by Jane Schwartz and Seabiscuit are really good non fiction books if you like stories about race horses.

I'll have to check out some of the ones you guys mentioned.

Sara Gruen-isn't she the one who wrote Water For Elephants? And yeah, I have a massive library of books about racehorses (love horse racing).
