I was in a car wreck

My boyfriend and I were on our way to his house last night at around ten-forty-five. We wrecked within 50 feet of his house. We were slowing down and turning, and another truck came flying by and hit my side (drivers side) of my mums Pontiac Firebird. The truck ripped the gas cap off the car and put black streaks all over the side of the car. It also ripped the fiberglass above the front wheel off and shoved the wheel inwards. Our airbags were deactivated (I wasn't aware of this fact until later) but we ran off a pretty steep bank into some lady's yard. The police said that if we had been turned just a little bit more when the truck hit us, that the car would have flipped.

The truck went on to tear across the lady's yard and barely missed her house. Instead, he hit the porch steps (7 steps of pure, poured cement)... The steps were literally obliterated... strewn all across the yard.

Both the car and the truck were totaled. The car is repairable, but the truck isn't...

We were all ok... no cuts, just bruises and sore. I passed out after everything was over and was sent to the hospital. The ER doctor told me that I have a mild concussion and to rest for the next day or two.

Thankfully the wreck wasn't worse!!!

Wow, glad to hear everyone is ok. Do as the doc said and take it easy. Hope your mom wasn't too upset about her car.

My goodness!!!
I'm so glad you're alright, and yes, that the wreck wasn't any worse than it was.
Rest up!!

Yeah, we're all fine. The driver of the truck was a guy that I and my boyfriend knew... he's a sophomore at the high school and we've all had classes together in the past.

I am taking it easy, but I'm hating it.. I'm so restless... My mum wasn't upset, she was more happy that none of us were hurt... and she's glad that, while the car is totaled, it is repairable.

Glad you're not seriously hurt Britt. You said you know the guy driving the truck, what's his deal? Why was he driving so dangerously?

Glad you are fine.

Walkamile, if Britts car was hit on the drivers side while she was turning it would almost seem that she may have been at fault. Any accidents that I have ever seen where the car is hit while turning, the hit is usually on the passenger side.

But glad you are reasonably ok.

Count your blessings that it wasn't much worse. I've been there before.....but the results weren't the same. I'm so glad to hear that everyone is ok. Cars can be replaced. People can't. Use this as a reminder to tell the people around you that you love them and give them that extra hug. You never know when you won't have that chance again. *HUGS*

He was trying to get home before his curfew (he's just 16 and hasn't had his license very long) and didn't see our turn signal and just thought that we were driving slow.

Ahhh, so he went to pass you instead stopping. That would be his fault, basically the same as rear-ending.

Glad you're okay!!
