I miss my brother

I'm 19 years old and on July 22, 2013 my brother died in a tragic way at the age of 28. I miss him so much. His organs were being donated, we needed to wait 2 extra days after he was declared brain dead to get everything ready for the organ donation and find locations to where the organs were going to go. We stayed with him those two days, talking to him and mourning over the death. We then were able to walk with him to the area he was going to have the operation, we say this was his march to his battlefield to become a hero. This is some what helping us cope.

It still seems so unreal. It's roller coaster of emotions. Fine one moment then it hits me that my brother is dead and i'm depressed again.

I'm just so out of it.

I miss him

Oh I am so sorry for your loss. Keep the good memories you have of him in your heart and never let them go. I'm sorry your family has to go through this.

Thank you, the grief we are dealing with is so bad. We had the funeral yesterday, it was such a big turn out. It showed many people loved him, I believe he didn't know that. I know I didn't show my love that much either, and I wish I did. I have guilt, that I wish I didn't have and regrets.

You are right - what a hero your brother was!!! Grieve and cry over his passing - laugh and smile when the funny and happy memories come... He'll always be with you because of those precious years, and keep you going strong. Time is merciful in healing. Prayers and hugs sent your way.

Thank you Northernstar, I just felt the need to talk to people about it outside of my family. The memories I have of him I will cherish for life. Holidays and his birthday are going to be extremely hard I feel. Also I don't want to go back to school in a month, because I do want to stay with my family now.

Yes being with family is really important right now, don't think about school right now. Be with your family, laugh, cry, feel sad, and all of that is ok. It is a roller coaster but talking about it will help. I'm sure your brother knew that you loved him so you don't need to be thinking that he didn't or that you should have said this or that. Take care of yourself, go hug your horse. :) hugs

It was 5 years this month my brother passed away. My heart is still empty and in pain today. He was my big brother and just like any brother and sister we had our moments, but I loved him and miss him. Hold tight to your memories, and know that he knew you loved him.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your bother... I can't even imagine. I have 2 brothers, and I can't imagine not having them. I hope you can find some peace. *hugs*

This was the closes person that I have lost. My brother was not suppose to go. I'm just sticking with my family. I was being a loner today, but I need to be around people.
