    Lightbulb Ice Fishing Anyone????

I was able to get out on the lake again this weekend. I helped my brother move the house on Friday to a different spot and then drilled out all of the holes. The ice is a good 9-10 inches right now and will get even thicker with this cold front coming in.

Yesterday I went out with my BF and his dad and pulled in a 31.5 inch Northern Pike and it weighed in at 7.5lbs... The biggest northen pike yet for me!! (the next biggest was 28 inches that I speared many years ago)

Here are a few pics of the fish that have been caught this winter... my brothers Walleye was 27.5 inches and his northers were 3lbs and 5lbs. But due to the weather I had to cut my weekend short so I wasnt able to go today.

    Yearling
Wow! This fish is as big as a cat! I like fishing but the weather here is not always nice specially in winter. I don't mind ice fishing but fishing in cold rain is worst. So I wait till Summer before going out for fish.

One thing is certain, I haven't caught a fish as big as what you showed

    Regards

    Thanks...

We roughed it many years with just sitting out in the open, but then a few years ago I bought a portable shelter which was nice. My brother and my dad went in together this year to buy a 7x10 permenant shelter... it is much nicer then the portable since it has a floor and heater in it. I have no problems staying warm in that!!!!
