First off Tony's (Barbarosa) Dad passed away August 30th after a long fight with cancer. He was a great man and mentor and will be missed by us and many others.
My health has taken a turn as well and after many tests and a biopsy, I have been diagnosed with primary biliary cirrhosis of the liver (not alcohol related). I'm at stage 1 so hopefully the meds I've been given will keep it in check and it won't progress for many years. There is no cure beyond a liver transplant, but hopefully I'll never get to that point.
Our new house is moving along, they are suppose to be here tomorrow to start on the actual building now that the foundation is ready. We're not moving from our farm, just building in another spot on the same place. Actually its smack dab in front of our old house Hopefully we will be able to move in within the next few years since it will be my "view" till then.
The horses, dogs, cats and chickens are all doing well. Saro and Shiloh are old hats on the trail now. We've gone on a couple of away rides and they load in the trailer and handle all new experiences with calm curiosity. Shiloh has even taken up the "lets chase the deer" game that Tony and her mother Fras love so much.
Saro still has an occasional catch in her stifle but it is getting less and less. I don't do any fancy maneuvers on her although she knows how to side pass and yield all her parts. I'll hold off another year to start any of that. They are both 4yo RMH's in case anyone didn't know.
Vida is still my main love. She hasn't been getting ridden as often but still a few times a week. Its nice to be on a been there done that horse once in awhile.
I have missed all my HF friends. I've kept up with a few of you on FB but those I haven't, know I think of you often. Hopefully things will settle down and I can be on more often. Football season and colder weather should slow us down
Anyhoo, that's a short version of whats going on with me.
Here's a big hug and a wave to all of you.
