My kirby has been working great for four years. Its convertable to hard floors as well as shampooing etc. it was about 1200, but I have 8 cats and a couple dogs... cheaper vacs lasted 2 years max and didnt have the sheer sucking power of the kirby.

Supposedly they fix it if it ever breaks and you can upgrade to the newest editions but....no problems here in 4 years

This is the ULTIMATE vacuum! It gets things beyond clean, anything else is just a toy by comparison.
Ohhhhh, and it's shiny!!!!!!! Outta my league, but I love the canister type. I won't have to jimmy the dust mop under the bed!

You can get a lot further with a ladder than you can with crutches!!
What do you mean what do I mean?

Okay, laugh if you will, but years ago I threw out the remnants of an old "upright" vacuum and bought a shop vac for inside (I had one dedicated to the garage, already) and all the "attachments", ha! Try and escape me now, dirt, dust bunnies! I have all tile, so I sweep up some localized spill or whatnot.

There is just as much horse sense as ever, but the horses have most of it.

I absolutely love your floors!

Co worker of mine sister in law gave up on Dyson's after going through 3 in 3 years, she also obsessive and vacuums every day. To tell you the truth I bought a cheap $60 Hoover that lasted 15 years before it died so I went and bought another one.

I found that I saved money by saving up to buy one of these. I've had mine since it was new, 20 years now and never missed a beat. My mother bought one in the 70's and it was still going strong when she died back in 2004. No bags, no breakdowns and more important, no buying the cheaper vacs over and over and over.

We have a Miele. Best vacuum we've ever had.

We had a Dyson and it was HORRID! Never in my life will I waste money on a Dyson product again.

My mom is a sweep and vaccum lady haha But we have a rainbow. We've had it for probably like 8 years and it's still going strong. She loves that vaccum and refuses to get any other.

We have an Oreck vaccum and we've had it for about 10 years and it still works really good! Our house is mostly tile with some carpet and it sucks all the hair off the floor from our German Sheperd. :)

For Christmas I got a new Dyson, hate it! Parts keeps breaking, the cord is cheap and keeps kinking, pretty much a glorified dust buster that don't bust dust. Heaven forbid I try to vacuum dog food or hair, ain't happenin.
What a funny post, I love your sense of humour! Its so sad to hear your Dyson didnt work well for you! We have one and its the best vacuum we have ever owned! I wonder if you had a lemon? Could you call them and complain you want a different vacuum all together??
