Exclamation I'm what?

I got an offer for a credit card and applied for it, but was denied. I couldn't understand why. They said they would send an explanation/reason for the denial.

I got the written letter; they said I was denied because all three of the credit reporting agencies (equifax, trans union, and the other one) all have me listed as being "deceased".

I have been working on trying to get them to understand I am in fact not dead, but really am alive.

Yeah, you're going to need to contact each of the credit bureaus. There may be someone with your same name who has recently died, and they're confusing you with them.

And how can we be sure you're not dead?? Lol! :)

Stop for a minute, open your mind, learn. You may not agree with what I say, I may not agree with what you say but we will both learn something new.

hahah. Sounds sort of like something that happened to my mum, apparently she's on Canada's list of "most wanted". I guess somebody has the same name and birthday as her, so for a while every time my mum went somewhere to show her ID or passport she got questioned pretty heavily. They finally got the picture that it's definitely not her.

Okay, totally different story. But still!

Give all those agencies a call.
They should be able to clear that up for you. Might take up a little bit of time though.

itsjustme - your failure to answer my above question has me slightly concerned! Can we please have proof that you are infact alive? :)

I can't just call the three credit reporting agencies, you have to send them a written explanation.

I did talk to the credit card place to tell them I am not 'deceased', but am alive. They informed me they would send that for review (that I am actually alive) and would have a decision about that by March 15. Huh?

Yes, you have to send them written notification. You can't really call them for anything, as they need to have a paper trail.
