Hagonnag, you must have a Yankee chip on your shoulder. I'M a Yankee, thank you very much, even though my father's family (Cash--yes, I'm related to Johnny) hail from AR, and the original family came over from France to settle in Raleigh, NC in 1685.
**Corporal rubs bruised Yankee ego**

A Jack and Three Queens, the latest book by James C. Dedman,
Hope that you fall in love with "Trot", like I did!

Pledge To The South

The south is a land that has known
sorrows; It is a land that has
broken the ashen crust and
moistened it with tears; A land
scarred and riven by the powshare
of war and billowed with the graves
of her deat; But a land of legend,
A land of Song, A Land Of Hallowed
and heroic memories.
To that land every drop of my blood,
ever fibre of my being, every pulsation
of my heart, is consecrated forever.
I was born of her womb; I was
nurtured at her breast; and when
my last hour shall come, I pray
God that I may be pillowed upon
her bosom and rocked to sleep
with her tender and encircling
HagonNag and Corporal like this.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I respect all the beautiful aspects of our country, and having seen much, I do love my Great Lakes Northland.... "By the shores of Gitchee Gumee, by the shining Big-Sea-Water, stood the wigwam of Nokomis, Daughter of the Moon, Nokomis..." (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, The Song Of Hiawatha.) I also love the tale of "Davy Crockett" - "Born on a mountaintop in Tennessee. Greenest state in The Land Of The Free".... I'm quite sure she'll love the history, beauty, and diversity here :)

I must correct that - I haven't seen much in comparison to others - drove down from MI to FL, and from MI to MN as a kid. Went to Washington D.C. on a 9th gr. field trip. Have loved N MI however, my entire life. Enjoy and respect the immense history to be found in our entire country :)
