I did like seeing this at the end of the article "Anyone convicted of the cruelty could face a maximum prison sentence of 12 months, a £20,000 fine or both, as well as being banned from owning animals."
So many states and countries place so little value on the life of an animal and penalties for cruelty are a joke. I think the people who do this sort of thing should have the same done to them.

That's so sad. I don't know how the heck people can hurt animals. I just love my kitty so much, I could never hurt her. So sad. :(

I am quite literally in tears after reading Tamma's and Vida's links. Whomever could do something so .. disgusting?? Wish the penalties were more harsh, to be honest.

If someone did something like that over here, he'd probably get a some kind of penalty (I estimate few hundreds euros) and perhaps they forbid him to have or keep animals for few years. I think that's not enough.
