I normally wear my jeans over my boots but when I want to tuck them in, my jeans are a pain.....what type of jeans do you wear when you tuck your jeans into your boots? :)

None... I'm not a fan of the jeans tucked into boots look, lol. I go to a school where far too many folks that have never even seen a horse think that, along with boots and shorts, is fashionable! For the purpose, though, it'd probably be easier if you wear jeans that don't have lots of flare through the leg. The extra material can be a bit hard to deal with.

If you grew up in the 80's like I did you know how to 'peg' your jeans. Start out like your going to peg your jeans by folding the excess over itself to make the jean fit tighter around the leg, then if it's longer you fold it up to make a cuff. It holds the the 'peg' and gets rid of the extra length so they bunch up around the knees. :)

Haha, on the couple of times that I've ever had occasion to tuck jeans into boots, that's basically what I've done!

When I wear my "skinny" jeans (Levis of course), which aren't that skinny but are definitely form fitting such as when we were in the late 80s early 90s and wearing those oh so cool LA Blues... I tuck them in my boots. When I want them over my boots then I wear my Wranglers Rock47s....

When I do need my jeans inside my boots, I fold them over like Cowchica describes and, if possible put my socks over them. If I can't use the socks, then I duct tape them. A couple riders I know who school in jeans and tall boots have Velcro type straps they wrap around the lower part of the jeans to help keep them in place.

I usually wear boot-cut or skinny jeans if I plan on tucking the pant legs into my boots. If I decided I want the pant leg out and not in, I choose on wearing a type of flare.

However, the majority of the time I wear my pants tucked into my boots. That way, when I am doing barn work my boots get dirty and my pant legs stay clean(er) and don't fray on the bottoms.

If I am riding western, I never tuck my pants in, I just don't like the look, seems odd to me. I do have western skinny jeans, some Rock & Roll cowgirls, I will wear boots over top the pant legs but only for streetwear, not riding. Wearing boots over top pant legs while riding reminds me of Festus from Gunsmoke...

Several brands make "Skinny" or "Skinniest" styles and I find both work really well with paddock boots and half chaps. Levi's has a 511 model. Bullhead has a Drakes line and Gap has a 1969 model. I have all three, but prefer the Bullhead "Skinniest" as my Ovation chaps zip easily over them with no bunching of the fabric.

Plus they feel good on. :)

Haha, I almost always have my jeans inside my boots. Depends on the jeans. If they're boot-cut, I will tuck them or wear them over, depending on my mood. Flare jeans you never want to tuck because they bunch up and rub.

If you want to do the skinny jeans, I just recommend jeggings. Basically they are stretchy skinny jeans that go on comfortably. I own two pairs and just adore them.
