Job interview.. this afternooon!!

WAAA

SOMEONE SAVE ME.

I'll give you a quick low down.

My dad used to be military, did his 22year service, now works FOR the army, and as I still live at home I am entitled to work within the base till I am 24.

This base is closing down, jobs are fewer and fewer, and mine has a year or so left.. maximum.

My dad is moving to Bielefeld next spring, with his job, and I'll be going.. but had no job to walk in to.
Until now.
The same guy that is boss of my dad is boss of another section which is moving same time, in to the same building.

So I debated, and for the sake of my future, and funding my animal habit, I said I'll fill out the paperwork for the job, which if I get it I will start in 8 weeks.

Well.

I put the paperwork in.

And I have my interview.

This afternoon.

Way to let me prepare ahaha!

Lunchtime, I need to dig out my skirt suit waaa and not let Rufus jump all over me... interview is at 1400hrs!! Its 1013am now.. mini heart attack.

I have told my current boss, he understands but doesn't seem ovelry happy (not my problem, really...) and was not impressed when they gave me a ring just now to ask me to the interview onhis phone, on loudspeaker -headdesk-

Oh well... fingers crossed!!!!

I've trained a lot of salesmen and I've interviewed a lot of people during my career. I know this is a little late but if you're ever in that position again, do the interview standing and walking around - the old adage about thinking better on your feet is 100% spot on. Don't forget to force yourself to smile while you are talking - it comes across the phone. Don't think too hard about what they are asking you, don't worry about what the reason is for the question, just be honest and spontaneous. Give them a chance to finish their question or comment - don't interrupt.

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

It's not always what you say but what they hear.
