By youngster you mean in my mid 20s yes I am thank you :) and I would love to have only 1 phone in my neighborhood. Means I could be out until my curfew(sp) without being checked on and no one could bother me :Pthat would be a happy goal for me lol

Ps off topic but this is my first multi quote and **** was that easier then I thought :P
Poor thing, do you still have a curfew? I lost mine at about 19, but was still checked on every freaking hour which was very embarrassing. Moved out of home at 21 as soon as I could afford to get a place in a share house. Meant working two p/t jobs while getting through uni but, boy, was it worth it! I didn't do anything I wouldn't have done at home, but I could have a hangover without people telling me to get up and do housework and I didn't have parents coming in the middle of the night in a taxi because they were worried about me, taking me home, then making me pay the taxi fare. Ugh.

I do have a cell phone and carry it most of the time, the great thing about it is that in the barns there is no reception so I am not beholden to it.

Multi quote is easy if you want I can teach you :)

haha yea sounds very similiar to me except no taxi's, by me we don't even have them lol .. and no more curfew for me thank god lost that when I went to college. But man did it stink in high school. If I was a minute late that cell would ring and have missed calls, a stack of texts building up etc.. just a big pain in the butt... but then again I could have saved myself all the troubles and came home early I suppose

Haha yeah been there before! Now, I'm going to be moving state and the family won't find out til I'm down in Melbourne *sneaky face*

Missy, I think I know what your daughter means. I always feel obligated to reply to messages and emails with my phone so when I go on holiday I try and go somewhere where I don't have reception or internet connection. It's so liberating, technology can be a real trap.

My daughter has had her cell phone since she was 9. Bought it before we had unlimited long distance on our home phone and in her school it is long distance to two of the numbers of the towns we are consolidated with. She is 16 now has been texting for years. Has had smart phones since they came out :) I just got her the iphone 4s for her birthday. I still use an old standard flip phone :)

Now I have to tell you ... I have a daughter who is a straight A student. Bought her own car with her own money when she was still 13 (turned 14 two months later) Not money she saved from birthdays and such...money she made babysitting. If I ask for her phone to see her messages she will hand it immediately over. The last time, I didn't even bother to look. Very proud of my daughter in every aspect of her life!

I'm fifteen and I've never had a cellphone. My brother got his first cellphone when he was sixteen. :) I don't like cellphones very much, because not only do I not have time for them, but most of my friends at school probably would never stop texting me!

I got my first cell phone when I was 17 and had to share it with my sister. We each got a flip phone as our graduation from HS present !

I got my first cell phone when I started high school and started staying at the barn by myself.

I love the convenience of having a cell phone. If I don't want people to bother me, I either turn it off, put it on silent, or just ignore phone calls/texts. It's that simple.

Yup! Only time I'm allowed to do that is when I have a genuine excuse like having no coverage - hence why I choose my holiday destinations very carefully

I just got my first phone a few months ago, I'm fifteen. It's mostly meant for emergencies and so I can call my parents when I'm out places.
