Major Floods in Tennessee (Picture Heavy)

Well, as the title says, today Tennessee and Arkansas experienced some crazy flooding. The rain has been going since Thursday, is still going, and will continue to rain until late Monday night. A couple towns in West TN are completely washed out underwater, and many towns have had to evacuate thanks to the lovely Mother Nature. Here are some pics.

A small part of my town.

That used to be a cornfield and a small barn.

The main street in my town.

A picture one of my friend's sent me. This is her backyard where her pond overflowed.

Just another road.

Same road.

A sink hole that formed in the road thanks to the rush of water.

A local steakhouse.

Behind my church.

The road to my school. Needless to say, we won't be going to school for a couple of days.

My cousin's backyard.

Another friend's backyard.

I have tons more pictures, but I don't feel like uploading them all from my phone.

I live on a hill, so our house wasn't touched, but my barn is halfway underwater. We moved the horses to a pasture right by our house, but it only has two run ins so they are kind of fighting for a cover, but we are moving the older geldings to my neighbors house where it is safe for them.

Oh. My dad told me that the levy(sp?) that holds up the lake about 10 minutes from my house is overflowing. Sooo....more flooding.

Thanks.

I just wish dumb people wouldn't drive INTO the water. They don't lie when they say water can look very shallow but end up being very deep. Plus, you don't know if the road is still there under it.

Stay safe! That's alot of water! We are still under repairs here in RI from the flooding about a month ago, it was crazy! It is definitely mind boggling the damage water can do!
