Hello all! I've been attempting to learn how to fill in my brows... and it's going... ok. I think I've got the shape down now, but I'm struggling SOOO much with product and shade. Mostly the shade.
I have very blonde hair, and my eyebrow hair is basically invisible. Everything seems way to dark, or just looks un natural (but this could be because I'm not used to having anything there! haha). The one I'm using now looks ok when I go get some red put in my hair, but when the red fades I don't like it as much. It's a Rimmel pencil in Hazel I think.
The other issue I'm having is my oily skin does NOT want to hold on to brow color! So by the end of the day I have shiny floating eyebrows. My hair has also rubbed the color off of my actual eyebrow hairs, but not underneath, it's just not a great look.
So any suggestions on products and colors? Maybe any suggestions to get color to stick? Thank you!
I swear by the Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow products. They do not move and I sweat a lot on my face and they last through all of that. If they are rubbing off you should also be using a primer before putting anything on and setting spray after the look is done, it makes a huge difference for makeup to last all day.
There are a ton of tutorials and product trials on YouTube so you can see what it looks like on someone with your hair/skin color. Grav3yardgirl aka Bunny is pretty pale so she might be a good place to start.
I'm a Blonde with invisible eyebrows and lashes. What works for me is a using a short eye shadow brush, the right color eye shadow (matte) and brush it into my eyebrows. It's dry and it stays in place. That way you can easily adjust the color to your hair as your red comes in and out....
I'm a blonde w/ blonde brows and lashes. I use the anastasia brand also. It's an ash blonde I think is what I picked. You can make it dark or light depending on how much you color...
Thank you aubie for the kind words. And thank you all for your suggestions.
I guess I didn't search hard enough to find the right blonde tutorial on the tube, all the ones I could find still had pretty dark eyebrows haha. I got frustrated and gave up there. I'll have to check out Bunny again too, I love her, just haven't watched many of her makeup videos.
I do use a setting spray, don't know why I hadn't thought of putting primer on there. I'm guessing my eye shadow primer would work?
I did used to use an eyebrow brush with eye shadow years ago when I dyed my hair brown, thank you for reminding me that's an option. I'll give that a try again, though I'm not as coordinated with an angle brush as I am with the pencil haha not sure why. I'm sure I've got matte eye shadow somewhere...
I've started out cheap with products while I'm learning, but I've been considering diving in. Had considered Anastasia, good to hear two of you like it, and that it lasts through sweating! I do a lot of that too.
I don't think I'm ready for tinting yet, but that certainly is an option. I know a few who have done that or the microblading and it looks fantastic.
Haha I feel you there Farmpony! ^^^ I don't do anything fancy, just have been trying to get what I do put on to actually stick to my oily skin!!! Without a setting spray even my good foundations just melt right off halfway through the day. Most makeup tutorials have me feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the different products they use!
I was just looking at the taupe powder duo, looks like a lovely color!
