Maybe adding a Maltipoo...

To my family today or tomorrow. I have been thinking about adding another small dog to our family for a while now so Ginger will have a friend. I think she would like a friend because when we go to my moms for a visit she runs and plays with her dogs until they are all three tired. Anyway heres the dogs story he is 2 years old, not house trained which is not a problem I have trained lots of dogs useing a crate, not sure if he is neauterd but if not he will be when I get him, also they said his hair is in bad shape were he needs to be groomed. I found him on craigslist the current owner is now legally blind and can no longer take care of him. I have groomed my moms toy poodle every since she has owned him (6 years) and I have also done Gingers hair how ever their hair has never been really badly matted/knotted and I am quessing his will be so should I just cut out the mats and shave him then bath him or would it be better to try to bath him then do his hair? Normally I bath then dry then cut but if his hair is as bad as I am imagining I am thinking I may not be able to get him clean. I guess I could bathe then cut and then bath again if need be. I am excited about the little guy and of course will post pictures asap.

My mum used to breed maltipoos and they were amazing little dogs, very sweet, very energetic but not nippy or yappy. They look like they're a permanent puppy, absolutely adorable.

He is a sweet guy and was a mess when I picked him up. He loves being able to go in and out as he pleases the door is open and the yards fenced in. He will go out for a few minutes then come back in and get some loveing then go back out again. You can see a picture in the thread, "Show me you other pets."

I've rescued a ton of poodles in the past (And right now two labradoodles!!), and with their hair I've always just shaven them and given a good flea bath (mine came from pounds, so fleas were a issue).

Hope it works out with your maltipoo, I've been pleased to meet a few and omg they are just the cutest things. SO sweet too!! Probably one of my favorite mixes.

Thats pretty much what I did. The haircut would of been a little better but my clippers died half way threw the cut.

Hopefully it didn't end in an embarrassing cut (like I usually end with) I can't use clippers, don't have enough money for a REALLY good pair, and my boys thick curls just lock up everything else. Bad scissor cuts ftw.
