Honestly can't be bothered to do it. They're generally decent places for normal tattoos or piercings but are flying by trial and error with heavier mods.
I'm only planning on getting four dermals...rather spend the money on finishing up unfinished tattoos and adding some more. I certainly love the look of a lot of them on some people, but others would just look wonky on me

Oh my freaking goodness. I didn't even know such a thing existed. Were you at all concerned when the instrument being used to cut your tongue started smoking? Did it hurt?

Most importantly, why does one choose to have their tongue split? Just out of curiosity.

Sarah, it's extreme body modification. Having one's tongue split in two isn't the freakiest thing I've ever seen.

If you get a chance, watch National Geographic channel when they're playing the Taboo series. They do several segments on extreme body modification.

Well I can see from this video alone that it is extreme body modification, no need to wait for a documentary on the National Geographic channel to back up that statement.

My most important question remains unanswered - why do it?

Why pierce your ears? Why dye your hair? Why get tattoos? Why buy fashionable clothing? Makeup?

The OP may be able to give you a specific reason for why he chose to do it.

Body mods in general are for aesthetic and spiritual purposes and self expression.
