Money saving ideas!

This is a topic for us all the post money saving things that we do! It does't have to be about horsey stuff, but that would probable be nice! So I will go first. Here is mine

I make my own mane and tail detanger. It works pretty good. You use a little more but you still save $$. Here is how:
I mix 1/2 cup of all the of the following; water, baby oil, hair conditioner, and fly spray (or vinigar). I put it all in an empty soap bottle so I squirt it out.

So who is next?

i make my own fly spray :)

18 oz white vinegar
2 Tbsp dish washing soap.
Mix in a 20 oz spray bottle and shake gently until well blended. You may add water to dilute. Spray liberally on your horse

i also built my roundpen instead of buying one it saved me quite a few 100

my round pen is 50' and i made it for about 300 using treated wood fence posts and treated 10ft boards. 1 by 4

I make my own reins... I have made them by just braiding three pieces of colored bailing twine together and tying some snaps on the ends.. or I buy a piece of rope from a tack store.. usually an inch thick and about four to five feet long and tie snaps on it... you can get all of it for around $15 bucks and it makes really nice barrel reins... we also reuse our molasses buckets that we get for the cattle and horses for water or feeding...

This isn't horse related but I save all my ketchups, mustards, pancake syrups, soy sauces, napkins, forks, etc. from take-out food and use it later. It's also great for entertaining...we never never ever eat mayo in my house but I had a few take-out packets for guests.
