I would agree that you shouldn't try to stop him form doing it if it's important to him. You don't actually have to "support" him. Just kind of disengage from it, if possible. Give him the space to do it. Ask him to get some good life insurance. If my husband wanted to take up motorcycles, I'd tell him, fine, but double your life insurance.

    OR

Get a motorcycle and ride with him. Might be really fun.

I know someone already said safety course-but I know that to get his license there in CA he had to show some expertise in handling it at the DMV.It's too bad he maybe "overhorsed" himself w/this bike, & I hope the insurance doesn't make it all "upside down". But-you are his girlfriend, not his wife-aren't you glad you know this now rather than when you are more entrenched? My husband bought a motorcycle after Promising he was only "looking" & would not buy one, then he broke that promise & that hurt worse than if he'd just bought it w/out the promise, as he didn't see that he had broken my trust in his word which he always said I could depend on.

So, I'm, glad he wasn't hurt too badly, but you are the one who must decide if you want a motorcycle riding guy in your life.
