Well your in luck I know everything I should know about horses! I wanted to see Flicka SO bad before it came out! The main charactors are Katy (Lohman) Rob(Migraw) and the mom Maria Bello. I think I have been riding since I was five.

I boycotted Flicka after I learned of how two of their horses met their deaths due to a freak accident on the set. I used to go trail riding up at Hansen Dam while I lived in California.. and when I went back visiting for Christmas time and loaded up the horses in the trailer, I talked to people over the fence at the Equestian Center (where they were holding horses and filming portions of the movie) and found out two horses died on the set a few months prior. I went home and checked it out, and sure enough.. two horses died on the set.

Apparently the first one that died spooked and the handler just let go. She didn't say what happened afterwards, but it was blunt trauma of sorts and it died instantly. The other one had to be euthanized.. but she didnt tell me much else about that one. Apparently they rubbed elbows with the SPCA and they were able to continue on with their film because they convinced them that "letting go" of a spooking horse rather than trying to calm it is the right thing to do.

So, Skippy! Decided she wouldnt give these people any of her money and support the deaths of those horses

As for my favorite movies.. I loved Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron.. but Lion King has to be one of my all time favorites

Sure thing! =)

One site on it: http://www.sharkonline.org/?P=0000000284

Another site on it: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/..._id=1000902860

PETA's site on it: http://www.peta.org/feat/Flicka/

And another: http://209.157.64.200/focus/f-bloggers/1392046/posts

I called my friend and she re-iterated that the horse broke its neck after slamming into the ground really hard because of the leadrope becoming entangled around the horse's hoof. So that's what happened :P She is still in a snit about it too, LOL
