She's getting sick again. I'm so frustrated. She's already had pneumonia this year. Now both sides of her neck are huge. She's got swollen lymph nodes along her neck. It's noticeable. She looks like she plays football. Called PCP today and they can't get her in. They suggested going to a prompt care and I said, "Thanks but no thanks." They were supposed to call me back today but didn't.
I'm just so frustrated. She is retracting in her sleep. I can hear her upper respiratory junk from downstairs.
Well, we went to the doc. Her lymph nodes are enlarged on both sides of her neck. They did blood work and we've got a chest Xray ordered. She's also got a thyroid and neck sonogram ordered. We're restarting antibiotics and going to put her on oxygen again tonight.
Her brother has had a goiter since he was in 5th grade. She's in 5th grade and her thyroid is enlarged. The doc who saw her wasn't her usual doc. He asked me if we'd had genetics done. ARGH. He says she looks like someone with Turner Syndrome. Well, she's had genetics drawn and she doesn't have Turner's. She's very small for her age and sees endocrinology for that anyway. I just hadn't expected these issues.
We assume her chronic sinus disease is rearing its ugly head again. She's swollen on inside and outside of neck. She usually looks like she has no tonsils (a doc once asked me when she'd had them removed) but today they're huge.
Oh, we're going to have a fun winter!
BTW, she's probably prefer being called a horse over a baby.
She's home. They moved up her sonogram to Friday. She's started antibiotics. Used oxygen last night and it helped but didn't make it perfect. Hoping to see if she improves after a couple of days on antibiotics.
