My snowboarding accident!

So, me and the boyfriend were all excited for our trip, had 70cm snow in the week before... We were staying at a resort 20 mins from the snow for 6 nights. We went out boarding on our first day, absolutely perfect weather! Well turns out I stacked it in the afternoon and knocked myself out. I knew my name and Marks, but not where I lived, how old I was, nothing, and I was bawling. Got taken off the snow by a Ski-do, then taken by ambulance on an hour and a half trip to Cooma hospital where I finally woke up and spent the night.

So I have a minor head injury... Not meant to do sport that endagers my noggin for four weeks. But I have a Trevor Morris Jumping school in two weeks and our zone MG champs which are the state qualifyers in 3 weeks. Bleh! Going to see my own doctor tomorrow so will see what they say.

Now I'm meant to sleep all the time... The muscles in my neck are wrecked, it hurts lifting my head up under my own power, so I look like a dork lifting it with my hand. I also hurt my hip, so thats sore. I'm constantly on panadol to keep the headache away, but if I stand up too quick or look a certain way I get stabs in my brain.

I'm so annoyed, this holiday was nearly 1k each and we only got one day of it. We get the lift tickets back as credit, but not the accomodation... I feel so sorry for Mark, he's being wonderful taking care of me and putting up with me whining in my sleep but I feel so bad that he misses out on this week of boardng cause of me.

Ah well... That was my misadventure. I guess just fingers crossed I get to ride at zone, if not Trevor Morris!

That's what you get for trying to get around on 2 feet instead of 4. ;p LOL Just kidding. That is absolutely terrible and I am very glad that you were not more seriously injured. I hope that you heal up fast and are able to ride in both the jumping school and qualifiers. ((hugs)) Good luck.

I am one of the worst ones about going against the Dr's advice but I would probably be back in the saddle within a week or 2 at the most (depending on how I felt). :) However, concussions are no fun. I have had them before. I suffered a skull fracture when I was 4 after being run over by a draft mule. I still remember how that felt after I woke up 2 days later. I couldn't even move the slightest muscle without getting sick to my stomach.

I'm sorry for that bad luck you met.

I hope the doctor will allow you to ride... Otherwise it could be good to stay out of saddle till the doctor gives you the permit... Even if it meant skipping that obviously great oppoturnity.

I cross my fingers for you!

Oh dear, what bad luck :-( Just remember it could have been much worse.
Concussion is not something to mess about with so do as the doctors tell you. I know its hard to hear but your health and life are the priority.

Thanks guys!

I was feeling really crappy the last two days but overnight and thismorning have been feeling a bunch better, off to the doctor in half an hour. I won't go against what they say, i'll just be super dissapointed! lol.

Ha ha yeah, the one day was great! :]
