Naming a puppy

Someone has to be more creative than me and my partner at puppy naming!
We just purchased a gorgeous male dogue de bordeaux pup from a registered breeder, and have no idea what to call him.

HELP!!!!

Except for the fact that he is too cute, and also that I dislike aggressive names on any dogs, still, he sort of looks like a 'Caligula' ("Little Boots") after the notoriously nasty Roman Emperor. You could call him "Gaius" or "Guy" for short. (Caligula's birth name).

I don't know why, but to me his expression just looks like he is tolerating all of us poor humans

Go with the Bordeaux angle and name him after wine
Merlot
Cabernet
Shiraz
Claret

Or the French angle

Pierre

Rufus! Best dog name, ever!
My friend has just called their pup Dug, but with her accent it just sounds like dog!

Alfonso?
Twinkle toes?
I joke!

Great names folks, keep them coming ;)
Much better than what my OH wants to call him..."brick" (think Anchorman) because he is coloured like a brick and will have a head like one. Yeah that's not going to happen!!

I can't wait to pick him up, he's not going to stay small for long though when dad is 73kg and mum is 65kg :O
