If I'm not mistaken, there is a difference between HIV+ and AIDS.
AIDS is the result of being HIV+. The progression of the disease, the syndrome that is caused by having the Immunodeficiency virus.
I have heard of people being on treatment for HIV, and some have gone years, as much as 10 or more, without it developing into AIDS, which is just amazing. The treatments have come a long way, but still have a long way to go.
So just clarifying, there is a difference between AIDS and HIV. Being HIV positive doesn't necessarily mean you have AIDS yet. Hopefully they can continue to fight the progression and save the white blood cells that are still working.
