I would go with the smoothie idea. Your body absorbs calories in liquid form so much quicker and with less work. My son was born with a type of diabetes where he ate very little and drank water a lot. His body could not hold the water so he would drink and pee constantly. He was so full of water he never ate so they told us to try and up his calories in liquid form.
Good luck. All I can say is by G-d, I wish I had your problem. I just gained 10 bs because someone type the word "cake", lol.
