New Bird..

So, I work at Petsmart and this couple comes in saying they found a budgie outside near their house and they had nowhere to put it. I told them to bring it to an animal shelter if they couldn't keep it. They said none were open and they weren't going to bring it home so they'd just let it loose if we couldn't take it. I panicked and said I'd take it, grabbed a Petsmart box and went out to their car to get the little stowaway. WELL turns out it was a little girl and she's the sweetest thing ever. I brought her home after stopping by a bird-loving neighbor to borrow a cage. My mom was reluctant to let me have her, but after some persuading, she's mine now. I've been calling her 'Baby' but I'm not sure if that'll stick.. I'm thinking maybe "Sydney" since the breed is from australia.. I played some parakeet noises from youtube to settle her down and she's now asleep.. lol I now have 8 animals.. I don't have a problem..

my friend had a budgie named "hercules". He was very, very personable.
She doted on him, spoiled him, but he was pretty darn cute.

When I lived in Tokyo, I found one that was loose in the trees. It was obviously tame and was so scared, it wanted to come home with me, so I took him home. I had him only a few weeks when he died rather suddenly. I think he had eaten some of the lead out of my mechanical pencils, because he would chase it across the page when I was writing. I was sad to lose him and felt bad that I had allowed him to mouth the pencil point. I just didn't think how little it takes to poison a bird.

Yea, I've debriefed my family about the harmful effects of aerosol and chilly rooms! She's slowly but surely warming up.. She sings whenever I play music! Lol When I leave the house I play a "Friendly Budgie" mp3 I downloaded from Amazon to make her feel less lonely :)

I had a budgie named Hercules too!!! My mom used to call him "herk the jerk" lolol :(

A woman needs two animals - the horse of her dreams and a jackass to pay for it.

Neat! Lucky for the both of you.

There is just as much horse sense as ever, but the horses have most of it.
