So I am working on starting a business. Because it is Montana and western based it will be western supplies however I do fully intend to supply and ship english. I would carry firstly locally made pieces and in a range of items. I will carry Home furniture and decor, Clothing, Jewelry, and Tack. I am also debating if once I can afford to get a building if I would also have the Restaurant my fiance and I would like to start. Below is a description of the categories listed above as well as pictures of similar items to what I would be carrying, They are not my photos or products.

Home Furnishing and Decor: this would be rustic and classy. It would fit in any mountain cabin get away or well made western styled home. Wood Bone and Iron made...or at least fashioned to look like something out of nature.

Clothing: clothing would be high end western wear for the most part. things you see the at rodeos and tv. Similar to Cowgirl UP and Miss Me brands.

Jewelry: the jewelry will be a collection of styles everything from light chain and charm pieces to heavy six strands of stones and one large pendant. Some of my sketches will be turned into silver pieces and made into jewelry, most being wax casting.

Tack: Tack will vary from saddles being shipped in to hand tied Montana reins, hackamores, ropes, etc. The base idea for tack started when I was asked to tie a set of reins for a parade...in turn its also the reason I need a name now instead of waiting until I have a little bit more set up.

Now you know a little about what the name is for I need the name. I have four picked out but not sure which to use or if I am on the wrong track all together. I want a name that is still fun and will attract the younger cowgirl types but it also needs to be classy enough to reach people in other age/class/style brackets.

The names I have so far are "by Wild Cowgirl Design" "High Antics Expressions" "Wild Creek Ranch" and "BigSky Gypsy"

If you have other name suggestions please post them especially if you select other in the poll.

I voted for the first one because it's the only one that says to me that this is a store run by a person who cares, not by a Big Company that's calling their stores cutesy cowboy names of life the customers in.

The things look nice... I hope you have a big budget for stock! :D

The plan is that most of the stock will be consignment so I dont actually purchase products to sell and since it will mostly be Montana (locally) made it will be a little easier to get the product in. Much of what I am planning to carry are things I can make out of stuff found on the ranch. A driftwood and rope frame with horse shoe nails, wall sconces made of barbed wire and antlers, etc...yeah been thinking about this for a LONG time.

Thanks for detailing what influenced your decision.

It is more small town then "Big Sky Studios" sounds. I want something that says big expectation small town. It is definitely difficult to describe the direction I hope to take this in.

I do like the idea of something like Wild Cowgirl Expressions.

Thanks. Any more ideas?

I voted mix, what about "The Gypsy Cowgirl" or "Cowgirl Expressions".
Cool idea!
One way to get some great items is to recruit local artists and sell by commission, you can open an internet storefront and list their items on there also. I'm sure you know that!
Good luck!!

Its not just a furniture store and yes men do buy and do ride. There is a place here called Lou Taubert founded by a cowboy for cowboys and yes they have a large collection of products for men but more women shop there.

No I dont want it to only focus on women but I do want something that says "founded by a cowgirl" in some way. I do like Wild Creek. My fiance, who yes will be my partner in crime through all this, still likes "by Wild Cowgirl Designs" So I will also be seeing what he things next time I get to talk to him.
